Questions About The 2010 Equinox?
-Grampas Nox
I did a test drive today... sticker says 46 MPG highway. This little bugger GOES... wound it up from a stand still... 5500 rpm pretty quick, first impression, color makes a big difference. Very nice ride... would go for the leather seats and some... My Nox Indy Mileage Report !!! Your 1st entry on the return leg may not be wrong - I got 30.7 on a 2007 LT AWD on a recent trip for one leg. I was so surprised at the DCI that I manually figured it and it was correct. Whether it was just optimal everything, I don't know - optimal everything is possible because weather was clear, calm, moderate summer temp, traffic light to nonexistent, I tend to be a steady driver, had no extra load in the way of luggage, etc. Other than that, my best trip mileage was 26.5 which I was very pleased with because it involved some hills on local roads as well as highway. For local everyday driving, I get about the same numbers everybody else reports here, so it's not like I have some kind of magic Nox. LOL... stogie5150: Here's the skinny for those of you who wanted it. I averaged around 23 mpg. Not the best in the world, but not the worst either. Around town I am averaging 18, granted I have only 12k on it now. If you have any questions I will... These figures are for a 2006 'Nox LS FWD, around 9k miles when the trip started, running on regular gas, 35psi in the tires,70-75 mph on cruise control, Mobil One in the crankcase, and two adults and a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and all our gear for a week in Indy ( we were loaded down). From Slidell,LA to Indianapolis, In order 11.22g - 262.8 mi = 23.422 mpg 11.83g - 284.1 mi = 24.01 mpg 9.9 g - 262.1 mi = 26.47 mpg 10.36 g - 200.5 mi = 19.35 mpg (this one was including some driving in the mountains in Tennessee and Kentucky) Coming back From Indy to Slidell, LA (I only have three, I didn't write down the fourth...) 5.38 g - 161.8 mi = 30.5 ( that had to be wrong, but that's what I have written down) 10.72 g - 248.4 mi = 23.17 mpg 11.64 g - 271.9 mi = 23.35 mpg So looking at it, I averaged around 23 mpg. Not the best in the world, but not the worst either. Around town here lately I am averaging 18, granted I have only 12k on it now... If you have any questions I will entertain them now... POWER STEERING FAILURE ??? -racer Power Steering Failure? Last night, the nox was parked in a TIGHT driveway. I had to switch the gear in reverse then in drive atleast a 50 times to take out the car safely. I had to turn the steering wheel so much that after a while the power steering didn't operate. The steering got so hard to turn, as if the car was not even started. I then restarted the nox, and the power steering worked for a while, then stopped again. After I got the car out, the steering seemed to work again in drive mode, but lagged a bit in Reverse. But, it works normal now... Anyone else experienced this? derek77: haven't experienced that, but it is normal. The electric motors on the power steering are protecting themselves from damage. When they get to hot, the stop working. Turning the wheel to the stops is not good for the motors and it's also not good on a traditional hydraulic power steering. Look in your manual. Page 300: quote: If you turn the steering wheel in either direction several times until it stops, or hold the steering wheel in the stopped position for an extended amount of time, you may notice a reduced amount of power steering assist. The normal amount of power steering assist should return shortly after a few normal steering movements. The electric power steering system does not require regular maintenance. If you suspect steering system problems, such as abnormally high steering effort for a prolonged period of time, contact your dealer for service repairs. Too many RR Tracks and holes in the road around here. I would go through a set of those tires and rims each month. I don't care for the Hybrid look. kersting13: I like the look of the Captiva EXCEPT for the ridiculously huge D pillar and the tiny, tiny rear window. I think it would be silly for GM to put out such a similar vehicle if the ‘nox is still going. Introduce it as a re-design. I never hated the ‘fuel cell’ look. I like the “Silverado classic” looking grille on it, but would prefer a grille like the new Tahoe/Suburban... Trailblzrj: It is the Euro version of the Equinox and it is called the Captiva in Europe. The crime is that the Nox redesign should be upgraded to this car design rather than calling it something new and charging more money for it. It makes no sense but I bet this is the secret project that they will send down those build lines as a new product. My prediction: Maybe they will announce this as an all new-name product -- or at least they might announce an Equinox Hybrid and then make it look like this car above. I hope that they do not make the Nox Hybrid look like that fugly design that they showed on an earlier thread here as the nox Hybrid, it is hideous... Re: I like the first one. I'll keep that in mind, depending on how much it costs for the repair. If the robber ever gets a key (w/o the card) he'll likely wait for...
