Looking at '06 Equinox

I'm looking at buying a 2006 Equinox LT. I have a 2003 Dodge Durango and the gas mileage is horrible. I've been reading that the Equinox gets better gas mileage. Is this true?

I've browsed thru a bunch of the gas mileage threads, and I'm just trying to find what peoples real world situations are.

I'm also thinking about an 06 Impala instead.

Any thoughts?

I got 22 MPG with my last tank of gas. I have been as high as 25 mpg and as low as 16-17. It is all in the way you drive it I think. Also early on my mileage was lower. Maybe the nox adjusts to us? icon_mrblue.gif

icon_cool.gif What color are you thinking about getting? Did you read the 2007 nox thread in the garage? They are eliminating some of the colors for the new ones.

im looking at getting the light silver. I live in TX, so I dont want anything too dark....my Durango is black and it retains heat very badly.

I am happy with my nox. The gas mileage really depends on how you drive. Do you drive with a heavy foot or are you easy going? Also are you planning on getting a 4X4 or a front wheel drive nox? I hope you get the Nox it is so much cooler than an Impala. Cars are so yesterday. icon_shrug.gif icon_funny.gif

i am more than likely going with the Nox...going to look some more tomorrow. I like the feel of it....the Impala seems more like a "grandpa" car....No offense to any grandparents out there.

plus i just found out that a good buddy of mine has a friend that is the gm/owner of a chevy dealership and can get me one heck of a deal!

What kind of mileage does the Impala get? That is a pretty big car.
